"Lit Jam" Addresses 
California State Standards
  • Students have the opportunity to learn from local and nationally-known people who use and value literacy.
  • Student work is submitted for judging to provide an opportunity for recognition and feedback from outside judges.
  • All entries must be theme-based.
  • Students may only enter one category.

What Will Students Do at “Lit Jam”? 
  • Spend the afternoon (1:00 – 7:00 p.m.) with students, grades 3-8, who share an interest in writing, illustration, and literature.
  • Experience live presentations by visiting authors, illustrators, and storytellers.
  • Actively participate in one, small-group workshop.
  • Enjoy a lively awards ceremony.
  • Purchase books and obtain autographs from visiting guests.
