Earn your high school diploma at your own pace and at no cost.
 
Lassen County Office of Education is proud to offer the Opportunity Academy Adult School to support adult learners across Lassen County, including Doyle, Susanville, Westwood, and surrounding areas. This flexible, no-cost program is designed to help individuals 18 and older complete their high school education while balancing work and life commitments.
 
Students can choose online or printed curriculum options that match their learning style, receive one-on-one tutoring, and access supportive guidance every step of the way. The program offers free transcript reviews, career and college guidance, and flexible scheduling options so you can go at your own pace.
 
Classes are offered locally at the Lassen Library and other community sites. Whether you're finishing what you started or beginning a new educational journey, Opportunity Academy is here to help you achieve your goals—one credit at a time.

Congratulations to the june 8, 2026 graduating class!

On Monday, June 8th, we proudly celebrated the achievements of our Opportunity Academy Adult School and HiSET graduates during a special graduation ceremony honoring their hard work, perseverance, and dedication.
 
We were honored to welcome Firefighter of the Year Zach Hoffman as our guest speaker. Zach shared an inspiring message about resilience, determination, and overcoming challenges.
 
Our Opportunity Academy graduates included Joetta Bechthold, Mikaela Buchanan, Kourtney Calvillo, Shyla Camarena, Mary Leean Conner, Anna Cunningham, Jessie Haughelstine, Isabella Marie Judlin, Brenda Martinez Pacheco, Olivia Brooke Hanahan-Bailey, Lynette Anne Stone, and graduates not pictured Arabella Dawn Hudson, Mervin Lent, and Amanda Maddox.
 
We also recognized our HiSET graduates, Ryan James Winstead Arnold and Samia Abdelli (not pictured).
 
Each graduate's journey is a testament to perseverance, courage, and the transformative power of education. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and excited to see what comes next in their journeys.

The Lassen Library District, in partnership with the Lassen County Office of Education (LCOE), offers free adult literacy support for community members who want to strengthen their reading, writing, and spelling skills.
 

Free Help for Adults

Our Adult Literacy Program is designed to meet learners where they are and provide support at a comfortable pace. Whether you are just getting started or want to build stronger skills, we are here to help.

Program Options Include:

  • One-on-one tutoring
  • Small group classes
  • Online learning (available by phone or computer)
  • Paper workbook-based learning
 
Participants can learn in a way that works best for their schedule and learning style.
