The Lassen County Office of Education (LCOE) believes social-emotional learning (SEL) is essential in all learning environments and necessary to create a healthy organizational climate. The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) is the foundation of our work. The five SEL competencies (knowledge, skills, and attitudes) are in the middle, the “how” is listed at the bottom of the surrounding rings, and the “context” shows at the top:
